FAQ

Collection: When and where can I collect my auctioned items?

In principle, auctioned items can only be collected after full payment of the total price, including buyer’s premium and statutory VAT.

The collection dates and the respective locations of the items are always announced in the auction.

Buyer’s Premium: What is a buyer’s premium?

The buyer’s premium is the sales commission that the buyer must pay in addition to the hammer price.
The buyer’s premium is 18%, unless a different amount is specified in the auction details.

Inspection: When and where can I inspect the items?

Detailed information about the inspection location and inspection date for the items can be found in the respective auction in the online catalog.

Bidding: How can I place bids in an auction?

To participate in our auctions, you must first register on our website.

Click the “Register” button, fill in the required fields, accept the privacy policy, and click “Register.”
After submitting your email address, you will immediately receive an email with an activation code to unlock your account.

Click the activation code, fill in all required fields (marked with an asterisk), and click “Activate Account.”

You are now successfully registered and can place bids on your desired items.

To do so, go to the desired auction, select the item in the online catalog, click “Place Bid,” enter your bid, and confirm it by clicking “Bid.”

Bidder Number: What is the bidder number?

The bidder number is used internally to keep your identity anonymous during bidding.
It also allows us to identify you for invoicing purposes after you have successfully won an item.

Bid Increments: What are bid increments?

Bid increments are fixed amounts by which the bid price increases with each bid.
The higher the bid price, the larger the bid increments become.

You can view the exact bid increments in each online auction by clicking “Show Bid Increments.”

Dismantling: Who is responsible and who bears the costs?

The dismantling, loading, and transportation of the items, as well as the associated costs, are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

Consignor: How can I auction something through EMA Auctions myself?

Please contact us in writing. Send your request to info@ema-auctions.com, and we will respond to you promptly.

Bid: How can I place a bid?

In an online auction, bids can only be placed online.

Minimum Price: What does the minimum price mean?

The minimum price is the lowest price that must be reached for an item to be sold.

If the minimum price is not reached, the item will be awarded subject to approval.

Withdrawal: Can I withdraw from my bid or purchase?

You cannot withdraw from a bid or from the purchase of items.
Every bid placed is binding. Please also refer to our Terms and Conditions (T&Cs).

Starting Price: What is the starting price?

The starting price is the price at which an item is initially offered in an auction.
You place your bids based on this starting price.

Shipping: Is shipping of the items possible?

If shipping is possible, the shipping conditions can be found in the online catalog of the respective auction under the section “Information.”

Payment: When do I have to pay my invoice?

The full invoice amount must be paid immediately after receipt of the invoice by bank transfer.

Conditional Award: What does this mean?

If the minimum price for an item is not reached during the auction, the award is subject to approval.
In this case, the decision regarding the final award is made by the consignor or our client.

Condition of the Items: What condition are the items in?

We auction various fixed and current assets on behalf of authorized parties. These are generally used items.

We strongly recommend inspecting the individual items at the location before placing a bid to avoid any misunderstandings.
